Shopping Carts

I’d love to be able to tell you that when it comes to selling products online or running any type of online store that there is one shopping cart service that is head and tails above the rest.  But I can’t.  And that’s because all shopping cart services are flawed.  There’s not a single one out there that always does everything right, all of the time.

So you have to compromise and go with what works best most of the time.  And in my opinion, that service is 1shoppingcart.  It’s what I personally use for all of my businesses.1shoppingcart_01

It’s not perfect, but then again, it’s also far more than just a shopping cart.  It’s a tool that can be used to run multiple facets of your online business.  With just the shopping cart portion, you can accept credit cards or PayPal (you’ll need to get separate accounts for these first) for both physical or electronic products.  People go to your site, click a button to order, make the payment and are given a receipt to a product or a link to a download page.  The shopping cart handles all of this for you.

But like I said, it’s more than just a shopping cart.  You can also setup autoresponders to build and mange your mailing lists.  If you happen to be on any of my mailing lists, the emails you receive from me are created and sent from within 1shoppingcart.  You can use ad trackers.  These allow you to track the performance (clicks and sales) of any type of ads (banners, Adwords, etc.) for your own products or even affiliate products.

And you can run an affiliate program.  The software handles everything…from signing-up affiliates, to providing affiliates their links, to tracking all of their sales, to letting you know what affiliates you need to pay and when.

So what’s not to like about 1shoppingcart? Well, at times the service can be very slow.  I once (unfortunately) launched a product at the exact time that they service decided to “be slow”.  I then received a flood of emails from people who were trying to order the product but couldn’t because the shopping cart page took forever to load.  Not cool.

If you use any type of third-party integration plugins with the service (like for separate membership site software), occasionally “buggy” things will happen.  The cart will stop communicating with the third-party software or not perform the tasks like it’s supposed to.  Then just as suddenly, everything will start working normally again.  And their help documentation is poor and out of date.  They do provide a help section, it’s just that it’s not much help and often provides images or training videos that are old and often useless.

Yet even with those warts, it’s still pound for pound the best tested and proven shopping cart solution for the money.  And that’s why I both use and recommend it.

If you’d like to take a 30 day trial of 1shoppingcart, you can do so by clicking here.

Disclosure - I’m a compensated affiliate.  I gave you my honest review and opinion on this product.  But I am also an affiliate of this product.  That means if you order the product using the link I supply,I will be paid a commission on the sale.

I used 1 Shopping Cart for a year and a half and it was a good learning experience .. and a big learning curve for me.

What I didn’t like was that I was downloading 3-7 mg audios .. and on just about everyone I sold, I had to go back and resend manually when the client complained. Yes, it’s down a lot. And originally when the original founder was in control, this was the Cadillac of Shopping Carts. But alas, like other things, it’s now been sold 3X over. They took over a year to redo their few minute camtasia training videos. The now small staff, is pretty perplexed at times as they are limited in what they can do.

I had spend nearly 2,000 with this company over that period, and in theory, it had everything I wanted, but down time, learning curve, well, I’m glad I’m outta there.
